Yesterday was the 5oth Anniversary of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. I remember sitting on my dad’s lap in our small living room, hearing the news and watching the funeral. It was a sad moment in our history.
Here are some quotes from JFK on leadership.
Live Well: Physical fitness is not only one of the most important keys to a healthy body, it is the basis of dynamic and creative intellectual activity.
Love Deeply: We can help make the world safe for diversity. For in the final analysis, our most basic common link is that we all inhabit this small planet. We all breathe the same air. We all cherish our children’s future. And we are all mortal.(Commencement Address at American University, June 1963)
Learn Continuously: Leadership and learning are indispensable to each other.
Lead Courageously: For without belittling the courage with which men have died, we should not forget those acts of courage with which men…have lived… A man does what he must – in spite of personal consequences, in spite of obstacles and dangers and pressures – and that is the basis of all human morality. (Profiles in Courage 1955)
Do not pray for easy lives. Pray to be stronger men.
Leave a Legacy: My fellow Americans, ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country.

I was in sixth grade when JFK was killed. He was a complicated, broken man who had a grand vision of what could be possible. Thanks for these insights, Steve. Really amazing.
